Services
We are a “Labor Only” moving company specializing in services for “Do it Yourselfers” on a budget. Our customers rent and drive their own trucks like U-Haul, Penske, or Budget. We are also the cost-effective choice for PODS, ABF U-Pack Relocube, U-Haul U-Box Storage Containers, or Onsite Re-arranges. We are experienced in all aspects of packing, moving, and heavy lifting. ‘Full Service’ moving companies that provide their own trucks can charge twice the hourly rate that we do. We feature experienced crew leads and movers as well as professional high-quality equipment to complete the job safely and efficiently.
Moving Pricing

- 2 Movers & Equipment - $115/hr (2 hour minimum)
- Each Additional Mover - $55.00/hr
Billing time starts and stops at your location. If we are needed longer than 2 hours our services are the same hourly rate pro-rated in 15-minute increments. We stay until the job is complete and you are 100% satisfied with our service.
Crews arrive with professional industrial equipment to take care of your move safely and efficiently. Equipment includes: Hand Truck (moving dollie), 4 wheel cart (piano dollie), Hand Tools (for assembly & disassembly), 2 Types of Heavy Duty Lifting Straps (shoulder dollie & forearm forklift), Shrink Wrap, Moving Blankets, Neoprene Floor Runner (floor protection).
One time service fee
There is a flat rate service fee of $55 within 10 miles – PDX Center
Our service charge is for scheduling, fuel, and travel to and from the location, and reflects our additional costs associated with PPE and additional vehicles required for Social Distancing for COVID-19 Coronavirus requirements for Oregon and Washington.
Additional distance stops, or larger crew sizes are subject to additional fuel/travel fee(s).

Great movers
I recently hired them to move my belongings from a 26 ft moving truck we just drove across country, into my townhome. From start to finish Matt, Christian, and Joey were true professionals. They were very friendly and kept an outstanding positive attitude throughout the entire 3 hours. They moved several very heavy pieces of furniture, including a few with marble tops, and they made it look effortless. It was like having 3 NFL players! I've hired several moving companies in the past, and these guys were truly exceptional! Instead of using a dolly or hand truck to move all my heavy boxes and furniture upstairs and throughout the house, they hand carried everything, so no damage to floors. They were prompt, communicated any issues or concerns well, priced fairly, and are SUPER hard workers! I highly recommend them and will definitely use them in the future!
Incredible experience. The guys Liam and Chris were super nice, even asking about our cats. Then they got to work and packed our uhaul perfectly. They packed up a few of our larger pieces with cloth and movers wrap too.We even had a snafu were we misplaced something our last day. We called to cover all our bases just saying you know if the movers took this small jewelry box it's important to have back because it's sentimental. But of course it shows up as we are unpacking, and we feel bad very ever insinuating such a thing.Thank you again.
OR Trail Moving is amazing. I highly recommend using them. Best investment for your move. I have booked them for 2 different moving jobs. Everyone is professional, kind, and helpful from the scheduler, manager, and movers. Both jobs were booked last min. for family that needed help. I was present for the 1st job. They were so fast loading the trucks that they helped pack the remaining items so we didn't have to do a lot of back and forth. 2nd time they helped my senior mother in-law. I couldn't be there, but they took all my directions ahead of time and saved us a lot of time and body aches doing it ourselves. What would take us a few days and several trips, takes them a few hours. This company makes moving enjoyable again.
Jennifer made scheduling easy, and Nick and Christian were amazing with our move from a 3rd floor apt with no elevator in the heat. One item did accidentally get broken, and they had great communication about it and made it right very quickly. I would highly recommend this team for your move!

Tony & Chris were amazing! Unfortunately our moving day began with half of our belongings getting stolen. Nick was so understanding with the fact that we needed to push the time back slightly so we could get things in order. We had a heavy and awkward couch (+ other items) that they lifted with ease and even got up 3 flights of stairs. I was beyond impressed with their kindness AND physical ability! We could not have done it without them and I’m so grateful I found Oregon Trail Moving.

I have used this moving company TWICE now and they are amazing!! I called around both times to a ton of moving companies (spent hours doing that) and Oregon Trail movers always had the best rates and best customer service. The owner and the office manager are both very responsive and kind. The movers always do a great job and have great communication with each other. 10/10!!!

Five star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ! I cannot say enough about Nick, the owner and his Craig. From the first call and conversation when Nick picked up the phone. He listened to my last minute dilemma and immediately was positive about being able to help me out. We are doing a home remodel and had a large 250 lb bathtub delivered in the morning and set in front of the house. I called movers that I’d used before and at first said they could, but after seeing pictures of the tub and u-shaped stairwell it needed to be carried up, they declined. Now it’s 3 pm and I called two other places and got recordings or left a VM. Next I called Oregon Trail Moving and I got a human to answer, the owner Nick said he could possibly get a crew there that same day at 8pm. He personally showed up with Craig and all their gear at 8pm on the nose! Great attitudes, cheerful, friendly, positive and were very thorough and it took an hour out of their evening! They went out of their way for us and we are extremely grateful for the customer service and all their help in a pinch. We will definitely use again and recommend them to anyone needing movers. I was in a serious bind trying to get a couch into my apartment through a tricky stairwell and wasn’t sure if I was going to have to give up on the couch entirely. A lot of places required a 2 hour minimum and wouldn’t help me for less. I was recommended Oregon Trail Moving and when I got on the phone with Nick, he was gracious and offered my a very fair price for helping me, even saying that he would only charge half that if they weren’t able to get the couch through the door. He booked me for first thing the next morning and he was there right on time! He and Carlos worked really hard getting that couch through the door and I was really worried that it wasn’t going to happen but they kept trying and successfully got the couch through the door!! I was very impressed by their perseverance through it all and that they kept trying new methods. Would highly recommend and will definitely be using them again in the future!!

Can’t say enough about how awesome OTM was for our move this weekend. We had Matt and Jaime help us with our move with more stairs than any of us would like to count and they were pleasant and smiling the whole time. Love the model of renting your own truck and being able to lean in and help when you want or sit back and take a break when you need it. If you don’t mind driving your own truck, then Oregon Trail Moving is the way to go!!!
Hired these guys on less than 24hr notice when the movers we booked through uhaul cancelled. I had 9 heavy adjustable bases and mattresses to move to 7 different locations up slick stairs and through tight corners and they executed flawlessly taking extra care in loading and moving to avoid damaging the products and our homes. They even had tools on hand to help when some unexpected assembly/disassembly was needed, and were happy to help when I needed to back up the large truck we rented. The guys were also friendly and professional, and stuck around even though I wildly underestimated how long we'd need them. Would happily hire them again.
There aren’t enough words to describe what a sleazy company Oregon Trail Moving is. I used their services for a couple of years and you’d think giving regular business to them would warrant sending a top notch crew, but instead they continued to send bottom of the barrel convicts that were regularly stoned out of their minds with zero experience in the industry. I even had one “mover” tell me he just got out of jail that morning.Prices were outrageous, and their crew regularly lied about how many hours they worked in order to get paid more. Nick has zero integrity and is a horrible business owner.You’d be better off getting a pack of monkeys to move your stuff for you!
The movers were very fast and on time to load our POD. However, about 50% of our belongings were severely damaged. The pod was not packed correctly, even with plenty of moving blankets and ratchet straps provided. Seems like they weren’t even used to tie down and protect our stuff in the POD quadrants. We’re so saddened with the way the pod was packed, and would not recommend these folks for pod loading.
Phenomenal experience. My friend got COVID and, last minute, had to cancel helping me move. They recommended Oregon Trail Moving.Nick was able to arrange for a 2 person crew to come out the next day to help me pack and load and the following day to drive my things out to Seattle and unload. The crew was relaxed, professional, and thorough. In the end it also cost about half my other estimate, who still would not have been able to get me here on time.You all will be first on my recommendation list should moving come up. Thanks for all your help this weekend.
Scott, Matt and Joey did an amazing job moving a couple pieces of antique furniture for me. They protected the pieces well, exercised great judgment about the moving path and obstacles, and were friendly and fun to round things out! Highly recommended! This was exactly what we were looking for. Straight to the point, helpful, friendly, efficient, and NO shenanigans. These guys rocked it! Matt & Josiah rocked it for us today. I wasn’t sure that everything was going to fit in the truck but they made it happen! And safely & securely! And they went above and beyond. Definitely will be using them again.
These guys were amazing! They were recommended to us by our realtor and did a fantastic job with unloading our moving truck and POD. Prices were also reasonable for a moving company. The guys that came were very nice and kind. They were very professional and made sure everything went where it was supposed to go.

I worked with this company to help me move into my apartment in the South Waterfront. They were professional and extremely helpful in moving around my reservation due to some issues with U Haul. Ramon and Dejion arrived on time and got the work done in a timely manner. I would absolutely use this company again and recommend them to anyone needing to move.
So glad I found OTM! I've utilized them twice: once to move apartments within the same building, and once to move my items into a Ubox. Both times the crews and office staff were incredibly professional and communicative, which has been a huge weight off my anxious, solo-mover shoulders.This was my first time using a UBox, so after using OTM for my in-building move I was excited to see them featured within the UBox reservation process. The office team was quick to confirm my reservation and answer my questions. Day of, the crew was very transparent about what could feasibly fit in the box and pulled off some amazing life-size Tetris.I do want to say that the crew arrived outside the arrival time frame provided by OTM for the UBox load (promised arrival between 12-3pm, but didn't arrive until 3:45). However, OTM office staff were open to polite discussion and committed to a fair compromise for the inconvenience. Their customer service truly is top notch, and knowing I can rely on them has truly been a weight off my shoulders during the stressful moving process.
Not a good moving service! The guys got there an hour and a half late. They took so long to get a few things moved. Sometimes they were just standing and talking until we saw them. Was really frustrating and they didn’t get a lot done. We had to get an extra different moving service for the following day. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

My husband and I booked Oregon Trail Moving after I received a recommendation from a co-worker. Craig and Liam did a wonderful job loading two u-haul pods for our move to New York. Both were efficient, kind, communicative throughout the day (pre-arrival as well) and went well above what we expected of them. They were really skilled at maximizing space, took time to listen to our concerns, and helped us with one of our pod locks that we couldn’t get to lock. Craig and Liam made a daunting task a pleasant one and we appreciate their hard work and great attitudes. We highly recommend Oregon Trail Moving to anyone needing high-quality moving services.

Absolutely phenomenal movers! They were easy to schedule with, communicative, and reliable. Lamont and Josh helped load my house into a pod that I was worried wouldn't be large enough, but they did such a good job loading everything securely and efficiently that it all fit. They were also extremely careful (I have a few antique pieces that are quite fragile), fast, and professional. Would absolutely use them again!

Looking for labor movers only? Choose these guys. They offer a pretty decent rate compared to other movers in the portland metro area. They also accepted my job on short notice. They were in constant contact with me and arrived on time. Matt J and Cris M were fantastic and even helped set up some of my furniture with the additional time left on the clock. I can say I was pretty satisfied with their service for a first timer. 10/10 recommended! One adjustment I'd recommend is removing the 2.5% service fee charge for debit/credit card users. Most people don't carry cash a lot these days. Other than that, I would consider working with them again!
My wife and I recently contracted Oregon Trail moving to help us move out of PDX. I so appreciated everything about OTM! The initial call was very informative and gave me lots of good advice for preparing for the move. Cris and Skyler were an excellent team. We have moved our house several times in the last few years, both locally and nationally. This was by far the best experience we have ever had.I rented the truck and they loaded and unloaded our 2 bedroom home. The 2 man crew worked quickly, efficiently, and took excellent care of our belongings. They were super friendly guys.Using this company and renting a truck is the way to go! We saved several hundred vs our last move.
We used Rashad and Cris M. for loading a POD for us, plus moving some furniture from one level of our home to another. Both were very professional, worked quickly, and even helped us correct an incorrect wrap on a leather sofa that we'd done. We'd happily use them again.

Nick does moving right.. fast efficient meticulous the details and they don't bang the walls doors, and your furniture comes out of the truck as it went in plain and simple.... Extremely reasonably priced. It's worth the time to make the call to compare prices before you sign anything from anybody else. Moving is never fun.... I have moved myself and friends, so many times.This time I hired Oregon Trail Movers to move 2 large storage units. What a life saver decision....I researched many companies for reviews and price, (of course), found they had the best reviews, as well as pricing, by far.Scott and Josiah (sp?), arrived on time, were friendly and very professional. They brought everything needed to pack and transport everything, (ie, blankets, plastic wrap, and various straps), were surprisingly fast and very efficient. The guys followed me to delivery destination to unload, and the load hadn't shifted at all. As a previous owner of a cabinet business and delivered many truck loads, I was impressed. This company was amazing, I had a crew help me move from Washington to Oregon and they were so helpful, fast and friendly.There was a cutie too, small guy with a beard who said "I've herded cows larger than this couch" it just really made me laugh and I appreciated that, especially because of how stressful moving can be.They were all really awesome and can I say the price is amazing!Will definitely be using them for any future moving I do.
Very good guys. Help them help you and they will go above and beyond. Just wish management would provide them with more than 1 neoprene floor runner. Moved into 2nd floor apartment with no issues, even with a couple challenging pieces.

Oregon trail moving was well organized from the moment we booked them. The emails they sent between scheduling the moving date and time to preparing for their arrival were so helpful and detailed! I didn’t have any questions about rates or fees or feel like anything was hidden from me. The last moving company I hired in the same area (just a year ago) turned out to be a joke so I was hesitant in thinking they would be THAT much better. While I prepared as much as I could for the actual moving day, I ended up being in urgent care the night before for an infection which put me behind. Going off past experience, I didn’t think the movers (Matt J, Chris L., and Super John) would move unpacked boxes, fragile items like frames etc. but with their plastic wrap they offered to do it all!! That alone took so much stress off me that day and I 100% felt comfortable with them handling all my items boxed or not to make the move happen that day. I would hire them again in a heart beat and can’t recommend them enough!! They also all have amazing personalities and made the day really fun. They were very mindful of our zoo or fur babies also haha. Tip them 1000% always. 🙂
Oregon Trail Movers had the best quote and reviews... even for my small, but mighty heavy job. The guys were prompt, courteous and collaborative.We had a small hiccup after the move and they responded swiftly—and after hours—to address and resolve the issue. I will use them again.

Matt and Solomon came to load up a couple of storage cubes for me. They were friendly, professional, and they took great care in handling our belongings. The packing job was perfect, they made everything fit in the cubes efficiently and securely. I would 100% recommend this company!

Had a wonderful moving experience. Ty and Ramon showed up within the window promised and got the job done in a timely manner. Everything was strapped in properly in the back of the UHaul and nothing was damaged upon unpacking.
My review is for a move on 6/24/22. Chris L., Marcus V., & Matt J. did a fantastic job of packing our U-Haul. It was a completely professional job. We had a 10 hour drive from Portland, OR to Reno, NV and nothing budged over all of those winding roads and hills. When we opened the back of our truck I was impressed with the work they did. Amazing job guys. They were also very efficient and did the entire job in 2.5 hours for a 2 bedroom condo. The 20' truck was packed full and the weight distribution was great. I highly recommend these guys.

Alex, Cris, and Matt were great. They showed up on time, worked well with us, and worked HARD. They didn’t try to drag out the time at all and I think were even more committed to trying to make everything fit than we were. The organizers I spoke with on the phone in advance were also super helpful in terms of supplies to buy/have, things to do, estimated time to complete, etc. 100% recommend.
After interviewing multiple local and long distance carriers for my cross country move I selected Oregon Trail Movers based on online reviews as well as their BBB record. They initially gave me a telephone estimate in terms of costs and trailer space required for the move. The initial estimate was for 17 feet of trailer space. Nick, their estimator, came to the house and indicated that I would need 22 feet of trailer space. The crew that came to do the move were polite and professional and actually did a good job. However, all my belongings would would not even fit in a 28 foot trailer. That is even after selling numerous items including a complete office set with a desk, chair, credenza, three book cases and armoire. Additionally I disposed of 4 shelving units, numerous power tools, two end tables, numerous planters. There were also 4 trips to goodwill and 4 trips to the dump for miscellaneous items. Even at that Nick missed the estimate by 22%. The result is that I have had to hire an additional U-Haul pod for the remaining items which is delaying my cross country move by two days, increased my cost by 30%. Their response had been "it is what it is". Not even an apology; just a voice message putting it on me. They won't even return my calls now.Nick did call and apologized for the inaccurate estimate of space needed for my belongings. He also gave me a discounted rate for the inconvenience caused. The discount will not compensate me for all the additional expenses or the lost time that I have incurred. However, it does demonstrate an effort to make things right. This effort, along with the conscientious crew that came to my home, is evidence of a very positive organizational culture within Oregon Trail Moving. I do believe that Nick was sincere and if I return to Oregon I would consider using their services again.

Hired these people totally last minute to help me finish the last bits of a move. They were punctual, professional, and really kind. I was amazed and how much they got done in the time I paid for. They took my chaos and got it all packed and loaded and made me feel great.

Scheduling waa easy. The crew arrived ready to go. The job was done efficiently. There was not a single moment of doubt or uncertainty in their service.Scott, AJ, and Joey did a fantastic job! Courteous, efficient, knowledgeable, and completely "plugged-in" to what they were doing. I wish every company that i have to do business with had employees like them!And!... I never once saw anyone pull out a cellphone! That sums it all up!

Carlos, AJ and Liam were fantastic. They powered through moving a dozen boxes of books and quite a bit of heavy furniture to a third floor apartment without an elevator. They were careful and reassuring the entire move. Customer service with Jennifer was also great, and I have no problem recommending the company.
These guys are great! Scott and his crew did one day of packing and two days of loading, and did a fantastic job all the way through. On top of that, the office is always response and helpful. Highly recommended.
On Wednesday, November 15th, 2 guys came and moved my sister in law from 3rd floor apartment..down 3 flights of steps and made it look so easy and simple...they were super to work with...would advise anyone moving to call them..cant remembertheir names but would give them 110% kudos for a job well done..

Really nice guys! Would absolutely use them again. Yes you have to provide your own truck but the overall cost savings is worth it.
I had a great experience with OTM, here are a few reasons why:- They were able to provide me moving support with only a few days notice.- I called a few other companies before them and typically received voicemail with rarely a call back. With OTM I was actually able to get a human on the line the first time I called. She was friendly and was able to schedule service with me immediately.- Caleb and Damon showed up with in the specified time frame. They were friendly, professional and efficient. They were able load at point A and unload at point B all within my timeline and with zero fuss or complications.- Finally, I found their pricing to be very reasonable.Give OTM a try next time you need to move.
Oregon Trail Moving helped us with the final leg of our international move. The crew was prompt and professional, and they took great care with both our belongings and our home. The movers arrived on-time, worked cheerfully and helpfully until our truck was loaded. The loading was done exceptionally well, carefully organized with rope tie-offs after each group was added. Reminded me of Tetris to see them carefully fit everything together to prevent shifting. The other thing that was impressive was how well the men worked together, very cooperatively, no issues of gamesmanship or personality.Excellent handling of the process from first phone call to the actual load. Highly recommend.
My husband and I hired Oregon Trail Moving to help us load a 16' POD. This company told us they specialized in "load-only" jobs. We bought moving blankets for the movers to wrap our furniture with - my husband offered these multiple times and they used them inconsistently. They did NOT wrap some of our furniture (even though we had leftover blankets once they were finished) and our leather headboard sustained multiple permanent scratches. Our solid wood dining table has a dent. The pod was poorly loaded and had a lot of negative/empty space. Items shifting in the POD (since it wasn't packed well) and we were unable to open the POD once it was delivered. I would not recommend this service.
The team showed up on time (which is very important), they were courteous and respectful. I had them pack and load for a move to Mexico which is no small task. The crew was aware of the critical review of my belongings by the customs agent and ensured that all were identified correctly. I had several very fragile, antique pieces of furniture that I was terrified would not survive the trip...they did thanks to the expert packers from OTM. Thank you for being so great and taking care of my possessions like they were your own!!
